Mayacamas Charter Middle School is excited to begin its initial open enrollment process for the 2023-2024 school year, beginning November 28, 2022, through February 13, 2023.  We expect to open in August with at least two classes each of 6th, 7th, and 8th grades with a maximum of 30 students per class.  In the event that the number of students who apply during open enrollment exceeds capacity, Mayacamas Charter Middle School will conduct a lottery on a date and at a place to be determined to fill open seats and to establish a waitlist, if necessary.  All families are encouraged to attend the lottery.  Mayacamas will contact families by e-mail, text, or telephone promptly after the lottery.


Applications may be submitted after the February 13th deadline and if the applicable grade is oversubscribed, will be considered after the scheduled lottery. At that time, late applications will be placed on the late application waitlist in the order they are received. Applicants on the late application waitlist will be contacted after the original waitlist for those who applied on time has been exhausted.


From the date of the lottery, a list will be created of those students who will be offered admission and those who will be on a waitlist. Students who are being offered admission will be notified promptly and will have fourteen calendar days to return a completed admission packet in order to secure their space. Students on the waitlist will be contacted by email as openings become available.
